Weekend...

My life is divided into 2 sections: weekdays and weekends.

On weekdays, I wake up at 8am...go to class and work...come back at 5pm (M,W,F) or 8pm (T,Th), bathe, do homework/study/ read...and then crash a.k.a sleep.

On weekends, I...
  1. Sleep like crazy.
  2. Shop for groceries.
  3. Clean my room.
  4. Take out the trash.
  5. Do laundry.
  6. Go to church.
  7. Attend Bible Study.
  8. Talk to Mum & Dad.
  9. Gymmatize myself.
  10. Sleep like crazy.

Yeah, I've slept like crazy this weekend. And I liked it. Sue me!

TGIF

I ate at TGIF.
.
Nah, I lie. I ate in the caf and it was bad.
.
Here's the truth: I THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY. I guess the semester is almost out, and my enthusiasm is wearing thin. The 2 hours of sleep last night and 3 cups of caffeine this morning didn't help. Getting my first B on a test probably didn't help either. And going to work and wrestling for two hours with heavy equipment that wouldn't work made me feel dong-dong-er.
.
But there's nothing a nap can't cure...couldn't cure.
.
And I'm coming home in 3 weeks. Me is excited. Me is very excited. *grins*
.
I can't wait to shower in my own bathroom. Really. That's like the first thing I want to do.

Spring Break: An Evaluation

I wasn't looking forward to Spring Break with a whole bunch of enthusiasm...maybe it was because everyone was going home...and I was not...I mean, I was looking forward to a break, but one whole week seemed a tad bit too long.
.
But today, one of my international friends summed up what I felt about spring break: I like doing boring things.
.
I like the everyday mundaneness of waking up, grabbing breakfast, going to work, preparing lunch, going back to work, going to the gym, taking an (extra) long shower, preparing dinner, and bumming for the rest of the night.
.
Sure, work over spring break has been a long drawn process. I've "ghosted" 5 computers, installed about a million updates on them and hauled them from goodness knows what building back to my office.
.
Sure, I spent 2 hours squirting windex and wiping it off from every single computer screen in every single classroom on this campus.
.
Sure, chopping up veggies on a teeny chopping board and handling raw meat in a teeny little dorm room is like trying to fit an elephant in a fridge. (Ref: Elephant Joke. Har har?)
.
Sure, spending 1-2 hours in the gym (almost) everyday can turn you into a stink bomb.
.
...but I sure wish I didn't have to go back to class tommorow.

Veggie tales...

Before Spring Break started, I've had at least 10 people ask me, "But...but...the cafeteria is closed...What ARE you going to eat over spring break?!?!" And then their faces melt in sympathy...as though I was going to starve to death.

I'm not a helpless, headless chicken la...so here's my answer:

3 (small) heads of lettuce, 2 pounds of carrots, 1 sleeve of celery, 1 tub of mushrooms, 5 roma tomatoes, 1 cucumber, 1 packet of chicken, 1 tub of plain yogurt and other random thingies later....

I turned into a cow over spring break. *crunch, crunch, crunch*

Finally...

I've finally changed my Christmas board...after like 3 months. Woohoo. I'm a procrastinator!!
Before...
...after.

I was lazy to whip out my digicam...so I used my webbie instead. So please excuse the fuzziness. And the laziness. And the uneven purple (I know purple and brown don't go...but I was out of colours) border. And the lack of creativity of my board. I'll think of something...later. *more procrastination*

Talking about procrastination, I think it's time I started writing my paper(s). Sigh. So much for Spring Break.

Holy Cow!

Holy cow!! Today I woke up...and I was like...oh my cow, I'm actually awake. I should sleep at 11pm more often. Don't you think so?
.
So last night, I was trying to think of a topic to write my essay on...but for the life of me, I couldn't come up with one. So I decided to sleep on it. I just ended up sleeping.
.
But hey, I got 9 hours of sleep. I'm not complaining.
.
While I try to wake up greeting God with a good morning and a 'please guide my day' prayer, I usually end up waking up to "I hate you, alarm clock" or "Why do I take morning classes?" or "*Groannnnn*, it's too cold to get out of bed" or just *groannnn*. Whatabout u? What are your first thoughts of the day.

My 37 Ringgit Bagel

Today, I ate a 37 Ringgit bagel for dinner.
I blame the dungu "meal plan" system that I can't get out of. I blame the unappetizing food that was served at the caf. I blame my stomach for not feeling hungry. I blame the dollar-ringgit conversion rate.

I hereby stop blaming random people/things for making me eat that 37 Ringgit bagel for dinner today. Ooops, does that mean I blame myself?

Check list

Check List: Things To Do Before Dad Visits
  1. Clear the massive pile of books and notes and receipts and ziplock baggies and cereal crumbs from your study table.
  2. Wash the massive pile of bowls and cups and spoons and bottles that have been sitting on your dresser.
  3. Fold your massive pile of dirty laundry so it will look like a unmassive pile of dirty laundry.
  4. Throw 4 bags of garbage and 2 inches worth of last semester's notes away.
  5. Crawl on your knees and sweep all the hair off your floor with your mini 15cm broom.
  6. Maketh thy neglected kiam-chai sleeping abode.
  7. Oh...HIDE THE BOOZE!!!

Check, check, check, check, check, check, and CHECK!

Oh krrrrawppp...I forgot my dad reads my blog.

The most important piece of plastic in MY world:

No, it's not my Credit/Debit Card...although that is pretty *tooooot* important.

It's this:
Let's get a lil black 'n white goin' shall we?How about a bit of old school eh?

So...if you read my last post, you'd know that I dropped my Student ID...somewhere...and basically, I was stranded for the weekend. Without that piece of plastic, I can't...

1) Get into my dorm. Illustrated here.

2) Go to the Cafeteria or Alvin's Cafe to eat mush. Athough I can't understand why anyone would want to do that!!!

3) Print out stuff from the computer lab.

4) Go go to the gym and not sweat.

So that's me spankin' new Student ID...and I ain't losin' that baby anytime soon.

=.=

I think I slept my weekend away...but that's no surprise...since I'm always sleeping...

Always have...

...and always will...

...forever and ever, Amen!

But I did do something non-sleep related. That is, I woke up, went to lunch, and went straight back to sleep. Seriously, I'm a pig. Wait, I'm a cow...whatever.
.
So this is Scarlett. I met her on the plane (the flight that got delayed for 2 hours) last month. And yesterday, we went to consume yummy food.

Gorgeous, ginormous portions of non-cafeteria food.

Anyways, that was my last proper meal for the weekend. Coz I terhilanged (lost) my Student ID and couldn't get into the cafeteria to eat. So I've been living off oats and cereal. >.<

Ahh...the wonderful life of a college student.

I'm going Bananas...

I never really liked bananas...bananas aren't fruit...in MY dictionary, fruits must contain juice - or else they aren't worth eating...and the day I find a juicy banana is the day that cows make chocolate milk.

But college has changed things.

Let me rephrase that, the college cafeteria has changed things.

Lets just say that my taste buds ain't that picky anymore...and I ate a banana for breakfast. And I ate a banana for lunch (We dissected bananas in Human Anatomy and made banana splits!!). Surprisingly...they were yummy.

And I got 50% of my dietary fiber needs for the day.

Maybe you didn't need to know that.

Oh well...

Suitemate accidentally left the door to my bathroom locked (from the inside)...and went out. *sigh*

Hopefully she comes back soon so I can wash my hair and let it dry properly so I don't look like a Siao Poh tmr in church. My hair has issues, people. I think it has pms or something.

Oh well, it doesn't matter. As long as she comes back before I "kup liew"...now that would be BAD...*hides*

Heehee

A few weeks ago, I blogged about Roommate who was going to save the world from global warming. I think that she has found a higher calling...because...

...I just witnessed...from the vantage point of my bed...
  1. Roomie going in the bathroom for a shower.
  2. Roommate going in the bathroom to...uh...use it...
  3. Roommate turning the lights off.
  4. Roomie screaming.
  5. Roommate GASPING.
  6. Roommate appologizing.
  7. Roommate laughing.

I laughed too. Just because it wasn't me in the shower. I'm evil. *sigh*

Chrwismas!!!

I slept at 4 am yesterday because of this:

Not really...I slept at 4 am because I was writing my essay/paper...but if it wasn't for the spirit of Christmas, I would have slept at 3 am. A WHOLE HOUR EARLIER!!! *gasps!*
.
I blame Roomie for decorating our door:

She made me get excited...so I made the tag for my stocking...
.
...then my creative juices got so pumped up I made a toilet paper holder for our toilet roll...fyi, our toilet paper holder has been M.I.A. for over 3 months...
.
I would like to thank the First Commercial Bank for making pens that fit our toilet paper thingy...now our toilet paper won't have to sit on the floor. Gross.
.
Anyways, I was so VERY excited and the creative juices were throbbing in my veins...so I decorated my bulletin board...and this is the final product:
.
" Jesus is the reason we celebrate this season!!" Tacky, I know. But it's true.
.
Anyways, last night I was up writing my paper which I had planned to write over thanksgiving break...but last minute I got invited to go home with my friend...and I didn't get a chance to do my paper...so I ended up burning midnight oil...had to get up early to work today...so I downed like 3 cups of drugs...just so I'd function semi-normally...=P
.
Yeah...anyways...more pictures from thanksgiving break:
.
It's kinda moody...but it like the way the tree branches frame the sky...
.
And then...there's me...I told you I'm a big fat kid pretending to be all studious and proper...

Coincidence? I think not...

The salad I stuck in roommate's fridge is now a block of ice.
It's almost freezing out there, and there is enough wind to blow me back to Malaysia.

Coincidence? I think not...=P

Bathroom grouses...

Roommate turned off the lights while I was showering...for the 4th time!! (Btw, I'm refering to the number of times roommate turned off the lights, not the number of times I showered.)

The first time roommate flipped the switch off, she left it off for 10 minutes and I showered in semi darkness...thank goodness she left the door ajar...

Second time around, it lasted for 5 minutes before she let out a gasp and ran to my rescue.

The third time it happened, the lights went out and the door closed. Pitch black. Hurray, I hope I don't slip, fall and DIEEEEeeeee. 10 seconds later..."GASP! Roommate! I'm so sorry!!!"

Today it happened again. She took 2 seconds before she realised that she did it again. And I realised that it was high time I blogged about my roommate who is going to save the world by saving its environment by conserving electricity. Or maybe it's just a subtle hint that I'm taking too long in the shower. Who knows?? =P

Hahaha...i'm not complaining...it's just an automatic reflex for her (and a good one too!!)...i guess it's one of the things we get from sharing a bathroom with 4 other human critters...Roommate, if you ever read this, we're cool. Thank you for bearing with my hair. Besides, you are improving...from 10 minutes to 5 minutes to 10 seconds to 2 seconds...definitely a commendable effort!

Fyi, the bathroom has separate stalls for the shower and the throne room...I don't shower with the doors unlocked.

Hairy Monster!!

Roomie: Roommate! Your hair is all over my stuff!
Me: Sorweee...*puppy dawg eyes*

I'm thinking of...

...an apartment in Scotts Central, where 6 young ladies live...of the time I sat on their floor, picking up hair...after hair...after hair...after hair...of how Joseph Ling who "couldn't tahan" anymore grabbed a broom to sweep up all their fur...

...Of how mum always shows me the dustpan full of hair after she sweeps my room...

...Of how I am always picking my hair off aunty sue's clean floor...

Yeah, so all girls shed hair right? I dunno, but I seem to shed more than the average girl...Of course it helps that my I'm the only girl amongst us suite mates with black tresses...so obviously this culprit is easily nabbed...So anyways, yesterday, during my unadventurous adventure, I bought me a little broom...

...her name is Hairy Monster...you know how the cookie monster eats cookies? Well this little darling eats hair...in fact, her one and only sacred purpose in life is to rid my room of hair...

Oh, Hairy Monster cost me 88 cents. How fun is that?

Before this, I swept my room with my shoe...kinda dragged it around until a lump of dust and hair formed...and before that, I tried using the dorm vacuum...except that it was so ancient that I couldn't figure out how to turn it on (and I'm not the only one k?)...then I tried using the dorm broom...but there were so many generations of hair and dust and gunk stuck on it that I never used it again...ughh...

And not to mention the hair trap...I can't bring myself to blog about it yet...Just the other day, I stood in 8 inches of soapy water while showering because of the hair clogging up the hair trap. I kid you not!

So what's the point of this blog post? I have no idea. I have no idea at all...I guess I'm just obsessed with the subject of hair...

October 7th. Roommate's birthday.

Roomate's birthday is today. She is out...somewhere...and Roomie and I grabbed our opportune momment to decorate her room. Actually we were shiok sendiri-ing half the time...but who cares? =D

We stuck this on the ceiling above Roomate's bed. It's in honour of her PHD in sleeping.

The classic 'write on the paper towel' birthday note with Roomie posing. I sincerely hope that Roommate doesn't wipe her face with it...

Don't we all love post-its? It's so handy, especially when it's somebody's birthday and you feel like vandalising their window. Roommate turns 21, as you can see. And I got cheesy and wrote lame stuff all over the #1.

That's Roomie again, posing with Roomate's birthday card...with a little dinosaur sticker. *Hint hint*, Roommate is getting old, ancient and extinct.

Roomie and I getting all excited over vandalised mirrors.

Anyways, thanks to Esiotrot who loaded me up with stationary goodies before I left...it was put to good use...

I did it. Again.

Hi. My name is siewpau. And I did it. Again.
.
I'm bumming in my room when roommate calls. Roommate says she forgot her card (which lets us into our dorm), could I come down in a while to let her in? Sure! I've nothing else to do.
.
10 minutes later she calls. Before she can say anything, I announce proudly, "I'm coming to save you!" Then I hang up and run down stairs.
.
I pitter-patter down a flight of stairs and reach the front door. Funny, no roommate. I go outside to see if she's hiding. Still no roommate. The oklahoma wind blows. I wish I had on something other than a tee and shorts. *wait wait wait* 1 minute later I see her car! Yay! Roommate is back.
.
Then,
.
Oh
.
my
.
cow.
.
I am OUTSIDE my dorm. And I DON'T have my card.
.
So much for "I'm coming to save you!" huh?
.
Well, of course I go hysterical. And roommate is probably thinking her malaysian roomie is a ding dong. And then our RA (resident assistant) walks by. I mean, of all people right? Well, she lets us in and she saves the day. Not me. Hero Pau was reduced to a laughing moo moo cow all the way back to the room.
.
End of story. I've embawessed myself enough.

Of rooms and their inhabitants

Okay, above is the my floor plan. Two rooms share a bathroom (in light grey). Each room has 2 or 3 inhabitants. I'm in the room on the left side (3 people), my room is right smack in the middle...it's the brighter coloured room. Each room has a BOOKCASE, BED, TABLE, DRESSER and CLOSET. The bookcase goes all the way to the ceiling so it creates a kind of partition for extra privacy. Can understand? Good! let's continue...

ANYWAYS, This is Layne...she lives on the far end of the room...a dance management major...she's my go to the caf(eteria) buddy...my random 12 midnight i need a starbucks buddy...and the it's 3 am and I can't sleep because of the starbucks buddy...oh...and she's definately phlegmatic...with a touch of melancholicness maybe??

This is Kelsey...she's the girl in between...i mean in between our rooms...she's a pre law student...with a PHD in sleeping...she raps too...uh...unconciously...but there's a bit of potential there...definately a sanguine/phlegmatic mixture somewhere...

My roomies are awesome people. No doubt we've given each other the worst roomate award several times before...but hey! We are all so phlegy together...it doesn't really matter right?

One thing though. I hate their hair. I hate my hair. I hate all our hair. And my suite mate's hair. Imagine 5 girls with long hair sharing a bathroom. Imagine the hair trap. Imagine all the slimy conditioner stuck in the hair trap. Imagine cleaning the hair trap. Actually, no. Don't imagine it. Don't even try. It's awful. Trust me. I need to puke.

*goes to puke*

I'll blog about the hair trap another day. It's such an important part of my life that it deserves it's own blogpost. Until then, this will have to do...

And that's just ONE week of MY hair in my ROOM ok? *wails: I'm going balddd....* Just imagine FIVE girls' hair in the BATHROOM...

*goes to puke again*

anyways, if you have been rendered dizzy by my references to phlegmatic/sanguine/ melancholic stuff...go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personality_Plus
